Horizon Caelis is a technology-based company founded in Murcia in 2024, specialising in avionics and navigation technologies for unmanned platforms.
We develop proprietary technology through R&D projects aimed at solving navigation, autonomy and integration challenges in civil, industrial, security and defence operations.
Vigilans is our visual positioning software solution for environments where GNSS is degraded or denied. It is currently under development and validation, with availability to explore pilot projects from November 2026.
Unmanned systems commonly rely on GNSS to determine their position. However, the signal can degrade because of obstruction, interference, spoofing or proximity to certain infrastructure, compromising operational continuity.
We have developed an initial version of Vigilans to estimate the platform’s position using images captured by its cameras and comparing them with georeferenced maps stored onboard.
Its vision algorithms identify terrain references and relate them to the available mapping to generate a position estimate. Processing takes place locally, without relying on the cloud or a permanent connection.
Vigilans is designed to complement existing navigation systems when GNSS information is unavailable or unreliable. We are continuing its integration and validation.
